First Avon lady millionaire is revealed

If you ever had doubts that selling Avon and managing your own team of Avon representatives could earn serious cash then take a look at this newspaper article.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/business/news/first-millionaire-avon-lady-revealed-2061813.html

Debbie Davies - featured in the above story and also in a video clip further through this article - has managed to achieve the impossible and has created a millionaire lifestyle for herself simply by taking the Avon opportunity. Interested? Then read on...

Avon is International

Although I am writing in the UK, and so refer to Avon UK in this hub, the information provided is relevant to Avon sellers in any country, from USA to India, because the Avon business model is practically identical wherever you are.

Direct selling with AVON

AVON is the worlds number one direct sales beauty company, using an international team of representatives to reach its customers through the door to door method of selling. The direct selling method is a way of "selling goods directly to the consumer and is the UK's largest provider of part time earnings. It is usually made face to face - either where a product is demonstrated in the home or a catalogue is left with the customer." (dsa.org.uk).

AVON direct sellers generally begin as door - to - door representatives who leave brochures with potential customers, return to collect orders and subsequently deliver their products and a new brochure. This is an excellent earning opportunity and many women, (and also men) have used the AVON route as a source of a second income. It is an exciting working from home opportunity.

From AVON rep to Sales Leader

AVON has developed its multi level marketing method to allow its avon representatives to progress on to Sales Leadership. The Sales Leaders main task, alongside selling AVON products, is to recruit new reps to create a multi level sales team. This offers the potential for greatly increased earnings as the Sales Leader earns commission from their teams collective sales, as well as the commission from their own personal sales.Sales Leaders can progress up a 'league table' to reach the level of Senior Executive Sales Leader. Individuals in this group can earn in excess of £200,000 a year!

What does a Sales Leader do?

Being a Sales Leader is an opportunity for you if you want to

  • Increase your earnings
  • Work from home
  • Manage a team
  • Run your own business

To really succeed as a Sales Leader it is essential that you have first spent a decent length of time working as an AVON representative. In this way you will have first hand experience of problems that a rep may face. You will have full knowledge of the ordering and returns process, the best way to manage your money, how to deal with difficult customers, increase your commission, and how to navigate the AVON website. You will also have experience of the benefits of selling AVON, and will be able to speak with enthusiasm and create excitement about the opportunity to join your team.

I know that some people sign up for Sales Leadership after only a couple of campaigns as a rep, but I strongly believe that without a good working knowledge of the day to day routine of a rep you will not be able to effectively recruit, train and encourage a team.

Recruitment and Training

Your main goal as a Sales Leader is to recruit and train as many successful representatives as you can. The bigger and better your team the higher your earnings will be.

Prospecting for new reps is the first stage of growing your team. It means talking to lots of people about the AVON earning opportunity. Friends and family may quickly tire of hearing the AVON story over and over, but they may be able to refer you on to someone who is interested in joining your team as an AVON representative. You can also hand out flyer's in the street, put up posters in playgroups, post offices, local shops, doctors surgeries and so on, and place adverts in the local newspaper.(leaflets, adverts and posters should be pre approved by AVON but there are examples on the Sales Leader website) .

Training your team is vital, so that they see their earnings grow, and then you will see the same. New reps need to know the basics of the commission structure, which I wont detail here because Avon change it occasionally. They need to know how to place an order online, how to reach customers and how to organise their time to manage their business alongside the other elements in their lives.

Retaining your effective representatives is also crucial. Encourage and reward them. Offer incentives and prizes. Send out newsletters to your team. Send birthday and Christmas cards. Basically, congratulate them often and show them that they are valued.

Your best representatives can go on to become Sales Leaders themselves, and build their own team. This is where the multi level system really starts to pay off. As their new team grows, then so will your earnings. The more representatives and Sales Leaders you can recruit and retain then the higher your earnings will become.

Skills you need...

To be a successful Sales Leader you need to be super organised, friendly, positive, enthusiastic and determined. There is the potential for excellent earnings - see Debbie Davis video and newspaper article for proof of this. Not everyone can reach that level of success, but I am working as a Sales Leader and I can vouch for its earning potential.

If you would like information on working as a rep with avon go to www.avon.uk.com or see my hub on working from home as an AVON rep.

Sales Leadership is a step up from being an AVON rep and consequently you need to work that little bit harder and put in that bit more effort than you needed to as a rep. But, as with anything in life, the more you put into it, the more you will get back.

The potential of Sales Leadership

Hi LeanMan. I dont really have any experience of Avon internationally. However, I have had a look at the worldwide Avon website, www.avoncompany.com/world and found these contact details for you.

Western Europe, the Middle East & Africa

Nunn Mills Road

Northampton

NN1 5PA

England

Phone: 44-1604-23-2425

Why dont you give them a call?

Otherwise - In the UK there are always adverts in local newspapers asking for people to join Avon. Could you find a contact for Avon that way, in your newspapers?

Hope that helps. I really hope your wife manages to sign up.Thanks for your interest and good luck.
